An exploration of woodland environments, using the senses of sight, hearing, smell, touch and taste as stimulus to develop communication skills through writing, drawing and speaking as a means of presenting both scientific and literacy skills, knowledge and understanding.
- Identify ways to enhance science and literacy teaching through experiential learning
- Plan outdoor learning opportunities
- Raise awareness of potential school based environmental projects using the outdoors
- Explore ways to deliver ‘working scientifically’ through observing, recording and questioning
This course is based on Earth Education principles and practice on understanding the world about us and how we care for it through developing love and respect for the natural environment.
