Back in the Autumn term Caroline Carr of Outdoor Learning Consultancy attended the Westminster Education Forum Keynote Seminar: Implementing the new National Curriculum to find out more about what the government was saying about the ‘ rounded curriculum’ and how learning outdoors can provide the means to deliver schools new curriculums.
The follow up 2 day training and facilitated learning event by OLC provided an overview into the new national curriculum and discussed how outdoor learning can support teaching & learning across subject areas.
20 teachers from across Lincolnshire took part in workshops, discussions and action planning on how they could adapt their new schools curriculums to take learning outdoors.
Day 2 enabled schools to present the fantastic work they had achieved and to share good practice. Watch this space for the teacher presentations – coming soon!
Clare Ward of SEN Consultancy added to the day by presenting a teaser from her Metaphors and mud! workshop. Find out more at her workshops at Beyond the Classroom Conference in March, ( more info on the events page).
